Industry executives and government leaders gathered at the Council’s Annual Dinner featuring keynote remarks by Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh C. Johnson.
Building off of the inaugural survey which established a baseline examination of the Department of Homeland Security, this report shifts focus to a mission-centric assessment of the broader Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE). The goal was to collect insights directly from leaders on those mission-focused programs and initiatives that work well, are not achieving their intended goals, or may warrant greater emphasis by the new administration.
The forum was led by 18 Council members and focused on providing TSA program managers and contracting officials with the industry perspective of doing business with the DHS. It provided insight into how industry makes decisions and mitigates risk throughout the acquisition process. The session also highlighted how information sharing and engagement earlier and throughout the acquisition process can increase the likelihood of successful outcomes.
