Executive Briefing with James McDonnell, Assistant Secretary of the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office

On February 9th, the Council held an Executive Briefing with James McDonnell, the new Assistant Secretary of the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office.  He briefed members on his vision for the organization and the role that big data, real time analytics, open architecture, cloud, and plug and play sensors will have in future efforts related to bio and radiological detection.  He discussed an upcoming pilot project to install sensors in 9000 federal buildings and a goal to push radiological detection to the pathways rather than target areas. Thank you Battelle for hosting this event!
