The Council enters in to strategic partnerships with select organizations that work to include the private sector's voice in important and relevant areas of homeland security.

American Red CrossThe American Red Cross of the National Capital Area
The American Red Cross in the National Capital Region is a volunteer-led organization that provides relief to victims of disaster and empowers people in the D.C. Metro Area to prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters and other life-threatening emergencies. Financially supported by the generosity of the local community, the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year responding daily to local disasters while continuing to build its capacity to effectively prepare for and respond to the next major disaster to strike our community.The region consists of the National Capital Area Chapter (the counties of Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George's; the District of Columbia; the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church and field offices at Fort Belvoir, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, National Naval Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health) and community chapters in Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William.

Together with the Council, the ARC cohosts the annual Partners in Preparedness Symposium and new to 2009, the CEO Summit at PIP. The Symposium strives to better integrate and coordinate the private sector in community preparedness efforts, engage local businesses in preparedness for their workplace and employees, and to raise awareness and preparedness for entire communities.

The Georgetown Public Policy Institute is committed to making the world a better place through research and practice. The policy reach at GPPI is wide-ranging and relevant. From education, health, and economic security to international development and homeland security, our faculty and students are working on today's most important policy issues.

The Council and GPPI partner jointly to enhance and enrich the public policy conversation on the role and responsibilities of the private sector in homeland security, the private sector's needs from a "homeland security" degree, and provide industry's perspective in GPPI programming where appropriate.

Women in Homeland Security
The Mission of Women in Homeland Security is to provide a professional organization for women working in the field of homeland security. As a relatively new field, the organization strives to provide women with a forum to learn about the many facets of the discipline and to build the connections necessary for their own professional development and for the connections needed to understand the full spectrum of homeland security.
